Fifty year prior to the date of publication of this issue, only days off this being exact, one of Australia’s most popular Prime Ministers resigned on his own terms on Australia Day 1966. A mere three weeks later, he resigned from Parliament altogether. The era of Sir Robert Gordon Menzies was over, but he is well-remembered.
