Drama on the high seas in 1913 as HMAS Sydney confronts the German raider Emden in the waters of the Cocos Islands. After a ferocious selling duel, Sydney is victorious and Emden is left destroyed, in Australia’s first major naval victory.

Cover based on a 1933 print of a painting by Arthur Burgess, the original of which is believed to be held by the Australian War Memorial. Story page 10.
