Volume 5 Issue 4

In this issue

In June 2007, ASP was launched with a great front cover illustration of Charles Kingsford Smith, heralding the birth of a philatelic magazine that wanted to be entertaining as well as informative. Now, four whole years later, we celebrate our success in becoming the most widely read (and most readable!) philatelic magazine that Australia (and perhaps the world!) has ever seen.

And what better to commemorate the 2007 launch than a new “Smithy” cover? Since our insightful series of articles on the life and times of Smithy concluded, some further stamps and many illustrations have been found. And the ‘pic’ on our cover, which has been “lost” for decades, but turned up on the front page of an old newspaper, will now feature on one of our famous ASP P-Stamps.
