Gregory Peck was one of the nice guys of Hollywood and he played “good guys” the way he lived. His inspiring roles on screen inthe early 1960s somehow echoed our own Australian experiences in dealing with the elephant in the room – the Aborigines whose country we had stolen and who now were not even counted in the census and could not vote. It was time for a new world and Gregory Peck played roles that made us think more generously… We changed!
